Dog toileting question

itsapoonameagain · 26/02/2019 15:56

Apologies for the subject matter, but really interested in knowing how do people deal with dog mess from the garden? Does it go straight into the wheely bin? Brought inside on a shovel and down the toilet? DH and I don't agree in our approaches, and I reckon we must be missing some simple and hygienic strategy that every other dog owner in the world knows about!!

I pick mine up in a poo bag and deposit it in the household rubbish bin outside.

Don't let the dog poo in the garden.

poo bag and household rubbish is what we do, and I believe that's recommended by most councils

We have a separate bin in the garden with a lockable lid so the kids can’t get to it. Every couple of weeks we take the whole bag to the tip. It absolutely stinks though so tempted to start putting bagged up poo straight in the wheelie bin.

BiteyShark · 26/02/2019 16:23

Actually technically I deposit the poo bags in a small plastic bin in the garden which then gets emptied a couple of times a week into the household rubbish. The plastic bin just saves me the effort of walking to the front of the house each time he has a poo Grin

Thanks everyone!
I'd love to stop the dog poo-ing in the garden, but I'll swear she holds on for the duration of a 2 hour walk some days, only to start scratching at the door as soon as we get home. Good job she's the loveliest dog in the world otherwise I could never put up with her 😂
