Dog walking chum

We're a family of 5 with an almost 2 year old collie cross lurcher, she came from the dogs home and has been with us for 11 months.
She's a lovely family pet, as long as you're in our immediate family!
She loves walks and either plays with other dogs or just ignores them.
Her biggest issue is she's extremely fearful of strangers, especially in the house. When out and about she's fine as long as she has space. Worst thing is people who want to pat her as she's terrified of hands and will snap at them. Doesn't help that she looks really friendly (she looks like the Dogs Trust dog logo).
I'm looking for another dog owner to join us for walkies so she can get used to meeting people who understand her fears and on her own terms. She would like to meet an extremely fast dog for endless chase games.
I live in south Birmingham.
Any suggestions welcomed!

There might be something on the MeetUp app.

Or ask local dog charities what events happen. Some areas are lucky and have all kinds of events you can join, with understanding people

It might be worth you joining the Reactive Dogs UK FB group. It's for owners of dogs who are reactive towards anything for any reason. As well as being a great source of information and support members often organise meet ups so you might be able to find someone (with or without a suitable dog for your girl to meet) willing to help.
