Can my dog eat cottage pie? (Without mash)

DH forgot to pick up dog food on the way home despite my three texts reminding him. We had cottage pie for dinner, had a bit left over I popped in the fridge for lunch tomorrow. Can my dog eat it? BlushGrin

That depends what it has in it. If you've made it with onions then definately not

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone · 08/02/2019 19:29

Well technically he could but then you would have no lunch for tomorrow.

The only suitable solution is for DH to go out and buy dog food. It doesn't matter if its out of the way or he has to pay more to buy it from a local shop. Maybe next time he wont ignore your texts. Grin

If there's no onions in it then it should be ok though it may give him wind Blush when I've ran out of dog food before I've given the dog odd scraps like scrambled egg or pasta as a one off.

@user1471533725 No onions as I hate the bloody things. Beef, carrots, peas, stock

Lucky dog. I’d go go for it.

Applesaregreenandred · 08/02/2019 19:45

My dog would love this - why not the mash too?

I'd cook some rice and mix in a tiny bit of cottage pie (not sure how much salt dogs are allowed).
