Walking the dogs is killing my back

A few days ago I slipped on a wet stair tread and fell hurting my lower back. Now in the morning taking the dogs for a walk, their pulling and jerking about while trying to sniff things or other dogs is really killing my lower back and hips.

I just wanted to have casual moan about it

Oh, I sympathise!

Mine is a lot better than he was but the other week he pulled me over on black ice and I went down with a right thump - I was in agony for three days! He wasn't remotely bothered and stood there pissing against a wall while I got myself back up again little shit Grin

I fell over on ice and hurt my shoulder last winter, not dogs fault. I couldn't risk walking him without the use of one arm, mostly he's OK but if he spots a cat will go berserk pulling and lunging and he's a big strong dog.
So I tried a "Hands Free" lead, it's a bungee type lead attached to belt round waist and it worked really well.
Shoulder better now but I still use it.
