Recommend a dog friendly hotel within a couple of hours of London?

A good friend is turning 50 and we want to get a voucher for a mini break for her, her DP and their dog.

I thought I'd ask you dog lovers of you had any recommendations for dog friendly hotels (or naice self-catering), ideally within fairly easy reach of London but we'd consider further afield.

Might be a bit far out but highly recommend the Royal Oak Inn near Chichester. Have dog friendly self catering cottages and their restaurant is amazing. Been a couple of times, once with dogs, and had a great time

One that springs to mind is Abbotsley Golf Hotel in St Neots
