Can you get a prescription for advocate online - I have found sites that will provide the drugs themselves cheaper than the vets but no one who will write the actual prescription. He has the same thing every time so I know exactly what he needs. The vet charges to do it

Do you mean the vet charges to give you a prescription? That is expected as they need to review your dogs health and deem it to be suitable.

You can then use the prescription online.

It's flea stuff not health related

But you still need a vets prescription for certain flea treatment. They still need to take their time to say it's suitable and prescribe just like your GP has to. I don't think you can expect it for free.

These flea products are prescription only medicines and are regulated in the same way as any other prescription medicine hence why a vet needs to write a prescription.
Every time I prescribe a medication or sign a prescription I put my right to prescribe and practice under scrutiny and we are inspected with regards to this. If I am found to be prescribing drugs inappropriately or for animals not under my care I could live my licence to practice and my livelihood damn right I am going to charge to take that risk.

You won't get a prescription treatment without paying for the prescription first

If you want a stand alone flea treatment then Advantage has the same flea ingredient as advocate (it just doesn't have the added worm treatment)

And advantage isn't prescription only
