Bloody Dog Ate a Bloody Mince Pie!

Urgh! I’m paranoid about mince pies etc at home but was on a group dog walk today when Noodle went wandering in a bit of the woods where he always has an explore. He wouldn’t come back and was snuffling around so I went to retrieve him (climbed over a fence and everything ) just to find him chomping on a mince pie container.

Straight to the vet where he was made sick within 20 minutes of digesting it and yep, he had a stomach full of raisins (I wasn’t sure if it had been an empty container or full one). He’d also just eaten before he walk and the dry food had puffed up in his stomach so the vet thought it unlikely that he had digested any of the raisins. He’s been sent home without going on a drip but we’re obviously keeping a close eye.

Bloody dog! Bloody mince pie litterers!

And that's the problem. He'll be one of the lucky "I fed my dog chocolate/raisins/onions all the time and nothing ever happened" sods convincing others it's ok, until one poor dog suffers :(

Tbh Bitey it's pretty typical sort of behaviour for him so I wasn't particularly surprised. Yes, you're right, he is lucky.

LegoDog spent yesterday’s walk snaffling people’s dropped breakfasts. She now has what can only be described as a “bubbly bum”. The lawn may never recover.

My large breed dog has eaten so much chocolate in his life that I think hes built up a tolerance Blush Now I can give as treats if I'm eating some.

But I wouldn't risk raisins or grapes. Much more toxic
