Anyone use an equafleece dog suit or similar?

I was thinking about getting my 2 spaniels equafleece dog suits to stop them getting so wet and muddy on walks (they cant be fully dried with a towel and take a while to dry fully).

But would it add too much warmth? Are they awkward to get on and off or is it easy once you've done it a few times? Is there another brand as good/ better? Any other opinions?

I can’t recommend equafleece enough. The fabric is breathable so the dogs can lore eaisly balance their own temps and super easy to get on and off and to machine wash.
The company are fab to deal with (especially when it comes to sizing).

No problems with ours DDog loves them! Wash and dry like new.

We used to use them years ago with our Great Danes (so they were the size of pony rugs! 😂)
They were really very good.

I have the equafleece polo neck one. Surprisingly easy to get on and off my impatient terrier. She really like wearing it and will even do agility in it.

That sounds good.

Ally Doing agility in one is a good endorsement for comfort and not getting too hot.

I manage to get my lurcher’s long gangly legs into his suit without problems. He doesn’t love it but he’s “sensitive” 🙄

I think they're great. Used ours all last winter, getting filthy each day, and it still looks as good as new. Not warm enough for wimpy DDog in the snow, but you can't have everything!

Bit dodgy doing agility in it tbh.

My dogs do get too hot in them but they are crazy collies so I put them on after the walk and it mops up all the mud and wet and keeps the car and house clean.

My spaniel gets far too hot in one out on a walk unless it's well below freezing- we use ours in the house when he's had a wash/rub down and it warms him up/dries him quickly and stops him shaking everywhere.

I bought the Hotter ones which are made by Equafleece but quite a bit cheaper.

I can't recommend them highly enough. Fab customer service and will take the time to help you get the measurements right.

I don't think they are too warm but my ddogs don't have very long coats. It really keeps them dry and clean when on a muddy walk and are pretty water resistant.

If you're concerned about overheating, Equafleece do make thinner "thsirt" ones

We’ve had an equafleece for our poodle for maybe 10 years now, numerous washes and a crazy dog and it’s still going strong. We use it mainly when she has her fur cut short in the winter.

Bu doing agility I meant training- in an out door riding areana on top of a hill in the rain 😂. I have a princess not a terrier and although she is supposed to be double coated she isn’t so she loves wearing a coat and always sleeps under a blanket 🐕

Equafleece is brilliant. We have a spaniel and bought one last autumn. She wears it in the rain and cold. It keeps her dry even in pouring rain.

Easy to put on (we have one without legs) washes like a dream.

I used it for the first time a couple of weeks ago this auntum and noticed a tiny hole, not surprising as she is in and out of bushes and thorns and all sorts! But I sewed it and you can't see it.

Even when she is caked in mud after a walk, you remove it and she is clean and dry where the fleece as been.

We have an equafleece coat , jumper , suit and tankie for our terrier , easy to get on and off , wash well and last a long time .

Does anyone use a harness with an Equafleece? And if so, how?! My dog is thin-headed, so attaching anything to a collar is useless (And makes her gag dramatically)

I use a harness with all our equafleece suits / jumpers , I just loosen it a bit and put it over the top , I use an Indi dog Houdini so lots of straps.

Great, Thanks Floral, I was hoping harness could go over the top, as Equafleece look quite snug. And I have a bulky webmaster harness. Dog not impressed at all with the weather today, so think I'll invest in a fleece for her

would definitely recommend! even the westies will wear them! mum got the first one years ago at a horse show, for our original westie- we now have them for all of them as we live in the middle of somewhere with VERY RED MUD = Pink westise- so stops us having to bath them every day!!!

I think I'm going to get my cavalier one first, make sure it doesn't add too much warmth, then get my cocker one (Cocker gets hotter than cavalier in general).

We had some for our labs. We used them when we went camping, they whicked moisture and dried the dogs really quickly, and were showerproof. What I particularly loved about them was how quickly they dried. However our dogs hated them. We had the ones with legs, and they hated having them put on, particularly as they got older and a bit arthiritic. We reluctantly ended up giving them away.

Aw I want a pink Westie

DDog lays down for us to put her legs in (we have both versions) she feels the cold and adores having her "pjs" on! DH has said she occasionally seeks him out during the day because she's "lost" a leg and she wants his help 💕

With reference to having difficulty getting old / arthritic legs in the garment Equafleece will for a fee out a waterproof zip in even if you have had the item for a number of years it’s not just an option for newly purchased suits .

Thanks Flora, I did see that. TBH we just use fleece rugs now with a Velcro fastener on the fleece belly bit, cheaper, easier and do a good job. We never really exercised ours in equifleeces, we use waterproof rugs.
