Post surgery blues

Battendog is back from some surgery on his mouth earlier this morning. Minor surgery but involving a GA. He's home early because he was kicking up such a storm at the vets after he came round. In the words of the vet nurse he was "singing loudly, the song of his people".

He's currently lying at my feet, softly crying.

I know many dogs cry like this after a GA but is there anything more heartbreaking? Sad

How on earth my parents coped with the (fairly significant) surgery I had as a child, I will never know.

We had whimpering and crying after BiteyDog was castrated. It broke my heart just as I am sure yours is right now.

Hope Battendog recovers quickly.

Thanks Bitey.

I have been there for other dogs when coming round but somehow you lose all reason when it's yours doing the crying, don't you?

I think it's because we know they totally rely on us so when they are in pain or confused the guilt is massive Sad
