It's 2 of my dog's birthday's today!! They have had usual treats but I have sang to them multiple times today!!
I fear the neighbours must be concerned about me tbh!! Ddogs certainly liked bemused!!
Anyone else's ddog a year older today?
And do you celebrate in any way?

I made ddog1 a special doggy cake for her birthday earlier in the year. Both dogs thought it was great! Grin

Absolutely! Absolutely nothing to do with the fact my dog comes to work with me every day and it's just an extra excuse for cake

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 29/09/2018 19:53

No, but it's largely due to a lack of specific date to do it on.

Birthday is only a vague month. Even gotcha day could be three separate dates - first met him in August, agreed I'd adopt him in February, actually left in my care in March...

We could only guesstimate our Battersea pups birthday so we picked a date around that time and he has a birthday like any other member of the family with wrapped presents .

Yeahmum · 30/09/2018 22:52

Absolutely - meat cake with candle!

TooManyPuppies · 07/10/2018 04:30

We do! I make them a dog friendly carrot cake.

dogandrunning · 08/10/2018 11:56

Yes , with presents , cake and party guests Grin

DeepfriedPizza · 08/10/2018 13:47

DDog's birthday is on 5th November (we think, she was a stray) we are going to give her a cake and a special dinner. She will be stressed by the fireworks so will try to relax her through the day.

PilarTernera · 08/10/2018 13:54

Mine is also a rescue and we don't know the exact date, so gave her the same birthday as DP. Treats all round Grin

ileclerc · 08/10/2018 13:56

Always. He gets a cake with candles.

Problem though - DTs had a cake with candles yesterday. Turned my back for a second and DDog was up on the table with his nose in the cake. He obviously now thinks all cakes are for him.

SpoonBlender · 08/10/2018 14:00

We always do! The little loves deserve it.

JammieCodger · 11/10/2018 17:12

Livercake cupcake with philadelphia icing. Smile

CherryPavlova · 11/10/2018 17:15

No, he’s a dog. He has a fantastic life but cannot understand time nor read a calendar. I dislike anthropomorphism.
He is happy chasing pheasants and deer and has no need of birthday parties.

thurmanmerman · 11/10/2018 17:17

We do Grin. They get Christmas presents too!

AccidentallyRunToWindsor · 11/10/2018 18:12

My cats have party hats made for them
On their birthdays. Ungrateful sods never wear them.

mydogisthebest · 11/10/2018 20:21

Yes both our dogs have a cake on their birthdays plus at least one present. We put a candle on the cake and sing Happy Birthday to them.

My parents send them a card too.

At Christmas they are well spoilt. They get a stocking each from me and DH with treats and toys in and my parents make them up a stocking each too.

FinnegansWhiskers · 12/10/2018 02:57

Mines a rescue dog. We got her at age 14 weeks old. Her previous owners bought her as a puppy but decided she was too much hassle to take on in a very short time....their loss, my gain 😊

Daisy will be one year old in November. I will bake her a tuna or liver cake to mark the occasion. She will share with her regular doggy walking pals.

She will also get some new toys and lots of birthday cuddles

fleshmarketclose · 12/10/2018 19:53

Yes cake with candles, something nice to eat and presents here. Eric seems convinced that it's his birthday every time he sees a cake with candles though and gets excited and starts howling.
