Golden retriever..?

Hello :) please talk to me about golden retrievers.. We've decided this is the breed for us. His parents own 2 who are beautiful, my parents used to own 3 when I was growing up. We're finally in a position to get our dog.

What is good regarding hip scores?

Would you recommend your Goldie?

There was a thread on this last week so have a look for that, here we’re some lovely stories about Goldies past and present
I’m on number 4 and I wouldn’t have any other dog but like any breed they have a downside too
I wouldn’t recommend mine though - you can’t have him!

The lower the hip score the better, they also should have eye testing done. The club website should be able to advise what what testing should be done.

I've grown up with goldies and my last one died 2 years ago and I adored him. He was so eager to please, had a lovely personality and so easy to train. I've now got a duck tolling retriever but I'd love to foster/rescue a goldie in the future.

My Goldie is stunningly beautiful, clever, dopey and affectionate. I love our walks together and how he follows me around and keeps me company. In the future, when he's gone in sure I'll get another!

Our lovely Honey. What a dog! Could take her anywhere and we did. Easy to train and we loved her to bits. Still miss her.

We have one from a puppy who is 7 now. Mad, greedy, hairy, drooling ball of fluff. Love him and hate when he’s not here! Photo to show how handsome he is.

That is a get together I would love to take my boy to. I am not sure that I wouldn’t come away without having snuck a few into the boot of my car.
