Just that really. This came out my 4 month old cav puppy's arse and I'm terrified I'm looking at a massive worm.

When I’ve seen worms they’ve been like small grains of rice, but moving. That looks more like he’s eaten grass or something he shouldn’t have

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 19/09/2018 14:27

Looks like a piece of dry long grass!!
So glad you put a warning!!

CMOTDibbler · 19/09/2018 14:30

That looks like a worm to me - you can get great big long ones like squirming spaghetti

Time for some Panacur!

ihaveapooq · 19/09/2018 15:10

@CMOTDibbler It wasn't moving does that make it less likely to be a worm?? He has been wormed since we got him.. if that's a worm it's an effin big one considering how little he is Sad

Pups should be wormed once a month till they are 6 months old. You can see something right through that poo, and I've seen teeny pups with huge worms - if mum isn't totally worm free in pregnancy then they transfer to the pups in utero and you have to kill them off as they hatch.
No harm in a good worming if in doubt

katmunchkin · 19/09/2018 15:47

Our puppy had something similar in her poo (long, straggly, different thicknesses) so we actually picked it out, put it under the hose pipe and it turned out to be a piece of fabric she'd picked up from god knows where.

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 19/09/2018 16:00

Just back from Googling puppy poo and not one picture like yours!!
Your puppy's not yours!! Confused
Once my rotty puppy ate an entire shoe. Lace and all. Wasn't pleasant trying to tease it out carefully!!

DogInATent · 19/09/2018 16:25

Icky*, but you're going to need to rinse it slowly in a sieve (or an old pair of tights) to know what it is. My guess is the pup's eaten a piece of fabric or some strong tissues.

  • but not as icky as washing and sieving 2kg of badger shit - been there, done that, don't ask.
BiteyShark · 19/09/2018 16:26

Faced with washing it to try and work out what it is or worming the puppy I would go with worming Grin
