How do we find a pup?

Thinking of finally doing it - very possibly a cocker spaniel. What’s the brst way to get one. First dog so complete newbie. Also views on boy or girl?

Breeding and whelping - cocker spaniel on facebook and the website champ dogs are both good ways to find a puppy imo.
We have a 11 week old cocker spaniel - she's been fantastic so far.
