My sofa stinks of anal gland leakage! Save me!

The dog's arse leaked on my lovely purple sofa and it smells rank even after being cleaned twice. When we bought the sofa we were told not to use anything other than the -very expensive- cleaner we were sold with it but it's not helping. I don't really care at this stage if I damage the colour of the cover although would obviously prefer for that not to happen. Any suggestions on how I can get this stink out?

Bicarbonate of soda sprinkled over and left for a few hours, then hoovered up. Worked on cat wee smell when our darling kitty kept peeing over the edge of the litter tray!

I've been told zoflora is the only thing that gets rid of that smell

Enzyme remover spray, Pets at Home. Your vet can teach you how to express the glands if necessary. Put a cover on it!

The bicarb really helped. Thanks for that. I would rather stick my fingers in my eyes than up the dogs bum The dog gets it done every month and hates it.

Keep him off the furniture

He's almost 3, needs his glands done every month but has only had one accident Fuck so I don't think it warrants being banned yet. In this house dogs are very much part of the family. He's asleep at the bottom of the bed as I type.

I’m with you dogs before sofas, just make him sit on a blanket to avoid it in future, Ive had this happen more than once, my lap dog on my knee and suddenly that rank smell! What makes me laugh is once she has dropped one she races off my knee and looks at me in indignation as if it’s me who has created the odour!
