Has she got an ear infection?

Fliphound keeps shaking her head like there's something irritating her. We've sniffed, and they don't smell bad and other than that she seems fine. What is this likely to be? Do I have to go to the vet? It would be SO nice to have a month without a vet's bill .

Could be something down the ear canal unfortunately if it came on quite suddenly and no discharge etc. Unfortunately that can be quite a problem so think you should go to the vets (sorry!).

Yes, agreed, sorry!

I agree with the pp, not necessary an infection, but possibly an irritant or foreign body in the ear canal. In some cases, repeated aggressive head shaking can result in an Aural haematoma which is a lot more expensive to fix. Yep, trip to vet (sorry) especially as it's weekend coming and OOH fees are much worse!

I love my friend! Went to drop off DS at hers to play and she has a friend who is a vet who was there :) She looked and said it's fine, just to keep an eye on it. So fortunate!
