Getting over the doggy love of your life... part 2

I've posted before about losing my beloved rescue pug at the beginning of last year. The support and love I received really warmed my heart, one lovely lady even painted a beautiful picture of my Lolly for me. You were all so, so kind.

Recently we decided that life without a dog was thoroughly rubbish and we couldn't live with it for a moment longer and so we started to look for a new four legged member of our family.

Last Saturday we met Marina, a beautiful 4 year old pug who was being retired from her kennel and was looking for a pet home where she would be cherished and allowed to live out her retirement in comfort. And we brought her home.

She has slotted in perfectly, it feels like she's been here forever. We absolutely adore her.

As is obligatory, this is she.

What a sweet little face. May you have many happy years together.

That is just such a lovely lovely post to read - I'm so very pleased for you and the gorgeous Marina.

May you have a beautiful and mutually beneficial long-lasting friendship filled with joy and love.

Thank you both!

She loves going for walks (which is good as she has a bit of extra timber too lose) and stealing DD's dummies. She's utterly besotted with my DH, which is adorable. She's just a lovely, lovely dog.

Sounds like you were made for one another!

I remember reading your previous post and I'm so pleased you now feel ready to open your heart again to another little furry friend. She looks adorable and she is one very lucky girl to have found a home with a family who are quite clearly going to adore her! I look forward to seeing more photos and hearing about her adventures.

Oh how lovely for you both!
I have managed to build up a problem for the future, we have 6 ex-racing greyhounds, aged 10, 8, 8, 6, 5 and 3.
I adore them all, they have their own individual personalities and quirks, but at some point we'll have to say goodbye and the thought of that breaks my heart.

The lady over the road from me has 2 rescue greyhounds. Beautiful dogs.

I am really pleased that you found each other.

I posted here about 4 weeks ago that I had to have my old dog put to sleep after a short illness, and was missing her dreadfully. Walks seemed pointless without a dog for company and the house was quiet and empty.

Fast forward to last week when we rehomed a 6 year old dog. She is a lovely gentle girl and we are lucky to have found each other. We still talk and miss my old girl but she has filled a big void in our lives.

Enjoy your lives together 🐶
