Bed for new rescue lurcher?

Recently adopted a lurcher and struggling to work out what bed to get. Currently on folded duvet, of course she likes the sofa/armchair more but I think it's partly because she likes to rest her head!? She also stretches out so not sure she would like a snug bed with sides!? Any brainwaves from experienced pointy owners?! Grin

Rescue paperwork says saluki x but they think there's blue whippet and probably grey too in there too!

Those eyes!

She will very quickly have you trained to do ANYTHING she wants. She looks a bit disappointed you haven’t been pretrained about sofas belonging to needle noses.

If she's a lurched she'll be part grey OP as the definition of a lurcher is a Greyhound crossed with another breed :) She's absolutely gorgeous!

Our grey has had so many different types of bed over the years and to be honest loves them all! He has a round padded one with sides downstairs (which he loves) and a large memory foam square one that we got from Costco upstairs in our room and he's equally as taken with that 😊 Enjoy your lovely girlie!

*lurcher

Having goggled for my own curiosity half the sources seem to say it's always a Greyhound crossed with a working breed and others just say sighthound... so who knows! 🙈 Looking at your girl I'd say there's definitely grey in there. 😊

Mummabus.....I just used lurcher as a cover all bases but also refer to her as a pointy nose/sighthound/saluki x. She is gorgeous and and we already all love her. So gentle but a very playful goon but a terrible food thief !! I think I am hooked on leggy hounds! 😍

"sofas belonging to needle noses."

Yup.

slinkysaluki · 10/08/2018 21:57

In my experience it's usually the sofa 🙄😄

Actually, a lurcher doesn't have to have grey hound in at all. A lurcher is a sighthound (any of them) crossed with a working dog (any of them). I have seen photos of whippet daschunds. And seen a wolfhound/mastif. These were, understandably, at either end of the spectrum! But there are huge variations, and when you start crossing lurcher to lurcher the variations are even more interesting!
