Adopted my lovely dog 12 months ago now , has never ever peed in the house in fact he has a bladder of steel and wont even pee in the garden , has to be on a walk . Tonight he has eaten his tea and run upstairs and peed all over the bed !
I'm hoping its just a one off but its a real surprise . Am i being daft ? Would it be likely to indicate a health problem ? He seems otherwise well except for the last month or so he has become anxious again on walks ( was very anxious but made great improvements) .
anyone had similar ?

Any new bedding?

Mine peeded on a new floor mat out of the blue. Never did it again after I washed the mat

no same bedding . Think i need new bedding now though , it was a lot of pee right through the bloomin duvet !

Could something have spooked him?

I just took mine outside like he was a puppy again after that incident and praised him for a few days as I was paranoid he might keep peeing inside.

Mine did this a few months ago. I realised he'd drunk an extraordinary quantity of fetid swamp water during walkies and it had all gone straight through him.

It might just be a one off, but if it starts to become frequent I'd go to the vets for a check up as there could be something like a UTI.

I think whats worrying me is that he has been stopping all the time on walks and looking anxious , i've been having to constantly coax him on wondering why his anxiety has increased ( he is usually reactive to other dogs and wary of strangers but does walk ) and why its manifested in this frustrating stop / start situation. Now with this peeing , so unusual for him i am worrying and over thinking things (probably) .
