A family friend has, in my opinion, been incredibly foolish.

Having decided she'd like a dachshund puppy, a few short weeks later- she has one. After answering an ad on Gumtree....

When she got the house to view the puppies, the mum wasn't around. The explanation the bloke gave for this was he'd had a few mates round for the World Cup which was disruptive for her so his sister was looking after her for the day Hmm

Anyway, predictably, she fell in love with the puppy, and handed over £900.

Below are pictures of the puppy. So far it seems to have been healthy....but it is NOT a pure Daschund from what I can see (maybe I'm wrong, I'm no sausage excert)

I think I can see Jack Russel in it, anyone see anything else?

I asked her why on earth she went ahead with the end purchase of the puppy when so many things were screaming PUPPY FARM and she said at least she saved it from potentially not a nice life at a puppy farm...which of course is totally stupid but that must be what people think or the whole operation wouldn't keep going!

She's had her over two months. Only just been able to go walkies due to having to wait for jabs.

I bought one of my dogs as a "pure bred" JR. About a year later it became clear that he was nothing of the sort! JR x Patterdale is my best guess. He's a gorgeous boy though.

I too fell for the bullshit of "We live in a flat so the parents stay with a friend."

Gorgeous little dog. Really hope it is healthy.

Cute dog! It looks exactly like our rescue dog who it turns out (we are the geeks who got our dog’s DNA tested, yes 😂) is a big old jumble up of chihuahua, jack Russell, yorkie and dachshund.

AcrossthePond55 · 08/08/2018 02:16

He's a cutie, but not pure Dachsie. We have one and his ears were always floppy and he always looked like a Dachsie.

DS just ‘OMG it’s a kangaroo’!

Speaking of which...

Your friend is a silly sod for paying £900 for the wee mite, but here's hoping he has a long and healthy life. My brother has a boxer/staffy cross who cost him precisely £00.00 - she was from a friend whose bitch had an "accidental" litter. She's 14 now, had the odd up and down, but generally been well.
