As the title says my lovely dog is being spayed tomorrow. What can I expect her to be like afterwards? She is a poodle if that makes any difference. Thanks.

How old is your dog?

Our poodle was spayed at 14 months... on the day of the surgery she was woozy, but not too out of sorts, could still walk/toilet etc.

Next day she was very sleepy and clingy, wanted to sit with me (or on me), vet gave her painkillers for each morning for a week, but she didn't seem to be in pain beforehand. Not sure if sleepy was from painkiller or post surgery effects.

Day 2 she was basically back to her normal self, and whilst we kept her quiet, she was happy to do most things....

We didn't walk her for 2 weeks until stitches came out, as she runs like crazy at the park and we didn't want her splitting the wound or getting a stick pulling the stitches etc.

And whilst she had night 1 in the "cone of shame", we put a child's tshirt on her (tied at waist) to cover the wound, and she was much more comfortable. A friend's vet didn't cover her dog's wound at all, said that females often leave it alone, and he only recommended the cone if they do lick/fuss at wound.... but I felt tshirt was better protection if I was out of the room etc.
