Sleep for 11 week old pup

So, BastardPup came home this afternoon. He is eleven weeks. Had a long car journey, has had an explore, some food and a wee, and played with his toys. He looks shattered. How do we get him to have a kip, and how do we know how much sleep he needs? He has wandered in and out of his crate a few times - do we just leave him to it?

I would make everything around him very calm. Put him on his bed if he looks like he might be settling and then leave him until he wakes up.

Puppies need about 18-19 hours sleep a day. I wouldn't expect an 11 week old puppy to cope on its own all night - someone will probably need to sleep very close by for at least a week.

He zonked out on the patio and then again in crate. Now snoozing in crate. I think DH will be kipping on the sofa tonight
