I know this has been done so many times on here but which do you use?

In the past i have used M&S and Petplan but policies have changed since i have usd them.

Is Tesco a good one?

Use petplan and have claimed approx £4500 and my dog isn't even 2 yet.

We're with John Lewis for the dogs

Whatever you do, make sure you get lifetime insurance - otherwise, if your dog gets something long term like diabetes (or even just something that happens more than once) your cover for that condition will end after 12 months, and you will have to pay up yourself.

I'm with PetPlan Lifetime for this reason. It's also one vets like a lot due to the fact that they often pre authorise.

PetPlan Lifetime cover here too.

They always pay out promptly. Not sure how much I've claimed over the 7 years of her life but it's a fair amount.

Pet plan are the best.

A lot of the others are actually the same insurer (RSA) underwrite absolutely loads of insurers, Sainsbury's etc are just like marketing names for them if you see what I mean.

Other things to check are if they cover dental work, prescription food and "congenital" conditions.

I'm with Tesco and they've already paid out over £2500 for my 3 year old retriever and I think I'm about to hit them with another four figure bill (mast cell tumour in her eye Sad ) They have been brilliant, it's lifetime cover (lucky otherwise I don't think another insurer would touch her now for her eye) and I think it only went up £5 last year despite the claim (which it would as she gets older anyway).
