hi,

I know I'm probably being ridiculous but dsis 8 week old puppy has just bitten me and slightly drew blood (it is a very small cut )
puppy is still unvaccinated at the moment.
should I be worried? I've never had a tetnus jab that im aware of.
Sorry I know I'm probably being ridiculous but worried of infection 🙈

I'd be unconcerned. Give it a wash and it should be fine. I've been bitten a few times and am yet to have issues.

That said, I can be slightly cavalier with these things, and I'm sure there is technically a risk but... It's low.

No idea what you 'should do' but puppy teeth are like needles and I got scraped and nipped lots of time with blood and it was ok. If it was me I would clean it and keep a check on it like any other cut unless there was some underlying condition that would make me more susceptible to infections.

lol you'll be fine

thanks, deep down I know I'm being ridiculous but when people started joking about a tetnus I started to panic a bit (can you tell I'm a worrier!) Blush I have washed it a few times & will keep an eye on it!

If you want to be protected against tetanus, you should be vaccinated yourself. Whether the dog has had its vaccinations is immaterial. However, you are very unlikely to come to any harm. When my dog was small I'm afraid she regularly drew blood with her needle sharp teeth.
Tetanus is more likely to occur in deep penetrating cuts that are contaminated with soil (like when gardening).
