what have you given him/her?

My 7 year old black lab has this.

I've tried him on metacam. He threw up everywhere. Then some other pain killers. He still limped. My vet seems at a loss.

Has he had xrays?
Can he be sent to see a physio
Could he be sent to see a specialist
There is loads that can be done to help arithic dogs so do not give up.
There are a variety of different pain meds so do keep trying them all.
Has he had cartrophen injections?

I think you need to go back to your vet and ask for more help and information.

You can also try supplements eg yumove, riaflex but your vet can advise on this too.

This website has some good ideas too here

Yumove, they have been brilliant for my nearly 12 year old dog. They get very good reviews online and by vets too. I get them from Amazon or Ebay as it's much cheaper than the pet store.

Hi Cobbler. Our dog has spondylosis and osteoartheritis. We were prescribed a once a day tablet called Onsior for him which has worked wonders, its expensive to buy from the vet but you can get it online for a fraction of the cost providing you get a prescription from your vet to buy it.He also has yumove advance which is a supplement for older dogs with stiff joints, you can only buy the advanced yumove on Lintbells website (this is the supplier). Our dogs been on this combination for 6 months now and is like a new dog bless him.We noticed a significant difference after about 2 weeks of taking these,I suppose once it's had a chance to properly get in his system. Hope this help, good luck Smile

Glucosamine Chondroitin and one other ingredient, usually MSM. Don't buy the cheapest (sorry) as you need a decent strength/quality.
