HI, my 8 year old Newfie has recently been diagnosed with arthritis of her spine and possibly hips. She has been prescribed gabapentin and Pardale v, anyone has any experiences of the same situation and how did it work out? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you

If you are on facebook there is an excellent group called Canine Arthritis Management.

There website is here

There is a lot that can be done to help and manage Arthritis, changing routines, making the environment easier for the dog, correct exercise regime, correct weight , supplements etc. Physio can help tremendously so worth a vet referral.

Hopefully you will be able to make your dog happy and comfortable with some adaptations.

Thank you very much - I have cut her walks and she’s never gone up or downstairs and I watch her weight, as she’s had a surgical procedure on one of her front paws for a cyst, the vet said that maybe she’s trapped or pulled a nerve to affect one of her back legs, it has flared up since her procedure. Fingers crossed it will improve in the next day or so once the tablets take affect, thank you
