Hi,

I’m back, I’m adopting a rescue from a sight hound charity. They have a podenco maneto. I’ve read up on them but just wondered if anyone had any first hand experience they could share?

Tia

They're lovely dogs, very gentle nature and happy to just chill out around the house most of the time. They are still hounds, however, and you'll need to be careful about letting him/her off the lead, and pods can be terrible escape artists. This is usually less of a problem with manetos due to the shorter legs but still something to be aware of. They really are usually pretty quiet and very affectionate. (I live in Spain, we have loads of them here, particularly in the rescue centres Sad)

Thanks sharplily. Do they like long walks?

There aren’t many in U.K. yet so I’ve never come across them before.

They do need exercise but it's more a case of short, intense bursts rather than a three hour meander, if that makes sense. Two brisk walks per day rather than one long walk.
