Just that really.

Have changed dog food 🙈 and woke this morning to diarrhoea in the carpet.

What's good to clean to reduce staining.

I've used Urine powder which has soaked up the moisture making getting the bulk of it up but I'm not keen to rub it in case I mosh it in the carpet.

Any suggestions appreciated please

I don't have any helpful advice but by dog had just been sick all over the bed so I'm just going to go buy a new duvet and pillows after work to save the hassle! I feel your pain.

Ham your poor dog and I don't blame you. If I could just replace the carpet I would haha

Hope 🐶 feels much better soon

It's embarrassing to have to confess, but I've cleaned a lot of diarrhoea out of carpets in my time. So here's my method.

Scrape or mop up as much as you can, (roll up your sleeves and pin your hair back, seriously).

Once you've got as much of the surface stuff off as you can manage, grab shampoo or washing liquid, the ones with enzymes are good. You need something thick and viscous, cheap shampoo has the right consistency.

Cover the stain with the shampoo and leave for ten minutes or so. The poo will flocculate up into the detergent. Scrape that away. Repeat as necessary, although you mostly don't need more than a couple of applications.

Once you've got the poo out, you can use warm water and gently sponge the carpet to get the detergent out. You might need to do this a few times, but don't soak the carpet, just sponge.

That will get the worst of it out. You might need to use an enzyme cleaner to remove the rest of the smell. UrineOut, Wee Away or that kind of product.

The best carpet cleaner I have found ( if it's just for small patches) is Dr Beckman. It has a sponge gadget on the bottle so you go over the stain and let it dry, then if necessary do it again. Really works. but there's a good reason I recently covered the downstairs of my house in Amtico

Thank you all!!!!

Dance it worked!!!!!

I'm adding a cheap dog food into the expensive new dog food that is 80per cent protein. Maybe not my brightest idea hahah
