How long will my girl bleed?

My 8 mth old lab is having her first season. I was already planning to have her spayed next month, but alas she's started before that. Anyways, how long will the actual bleeding last for? I've got baby gates up so she's confined to the downstairs which has all wipeable flooring.
She's being super clingy and following me every time I get up to go into another room. I feel absolutely terrible about not taking her for walks but we do have a large back garden which she is secure in and can go out to stretch her legs, but it's not the same as her ball catching walks.
Any other tips I should know on how to deal with this? Thanks

First of all PLEASE do not get her spayed next month. In fact please don’t get her done until she has full grown physically, mentally and emotionally. If you do so before that happens her growth will be stunted and massively increases the risk of other health problems.

I also couldn’t imagine keeping my dog in the whole time she’s in season. She’d go mad! Get up extra early, take her out extra late. She doesn’t have to be let off the lead but just new sights and smells.

The length of the season varies. My dogs last season lasted almost a month. The one before that about 3 weeks.
