13 year old lab very clingy and whining during night

My dog has become very clingy. Sometimes during the day whines if not in the same room as anyone!!!!
Now started at night! Resorted to taking him upstairs to settle him but then we don't sleep!
Been to vet to rule anything medical out.....got plug ins next to bed......my jumper is in his bed
Any other advice please? X

Has his hearing and sight been tested?

My neighbours old dog started doing this, I'm sure the vet said that there were medications that could help. Sadly they had the dog put to sleep not long afterwards so no idea what the meds were, but I suspect some sort of sedative.
You can get Zylkene to sprinkle on their food which is supposed to relieve stress that may be worth trying.
