Feeling down about a old pet tonight

Our family dog died 3 days before Christmas last year. He was 17 years old and I got him when I was 9. He was my best friend, always made me smile and kept me company. Was there with me growing up. I adored him. We knew this day was coming soon as he was detoriating quickly. But I guess you're never ready.
Tonight I stumbled across a pic of him as a puppy and in now crying my eyes out. I miss him so much. I never got to say bye as my parents had him put down while I was at work!

I know some people wouldn't get why I'm so upset but he was like family. And I've grown up with him.

Flowers Didn’t want to read and run. Try and remember what a fab long life he had with you and how lucky he was to “get you “ as his “hoomans” They seem like they are with us for such a short time but they are in our hearts forever. Flowers

I’m so sorry. Sad I lost my 14 year old boy last Monday. I was 12 when we got him, he six weeks. He had been through everything with me - school, college, leaving home, new place just the two of us. I genuinely feel like a part of me died with him. I miss him so much so know just how you’re feeling. I am so sorry. It’s the worst thing about having dogs Sad

Oh hugs. I was like this last night about our old girl who we lost in November. I don't even know what set it off but I sat there sobbing away in bed. Just so aware of her not being there.
