New to keeping a dog. It's my daughters and both of them moved back in yesterday. That's fine (ish) we have a big garden for her to run about in. She's a whippet cross. The old owner apparently got her jabbed but we have no proof of this , so the following questions.

Should I get her re jabbed?
When to get her spayed?
Worming
Flea treatment
Registering her at the vets, how much should I get her insured?

She's a beautiful dog and I want to do what's right with her. She has company all day. The old owner just left her in a back yard. She loves to snuggle and have belly rubs and has a grin on her face like she's laughing. She follows me around the house, is this normal, it's like she doesn't want to miss out on doing the washing up! Sorry for all the questions.

Well she's been back nearly a week. You would of thought she's never been away. Keeps having timid moments which are to be expected.
Noted that she has put weight on. You can no longer see her heart beating under her skin ☹️
So training begins. I know she's 18 months old , house trained has recall until she sees a bird. But I want her to sleep in her own bed. Not asking much. I'm also looking at agility classes for her.
From yesterday we have been leaving her alone in the house. Intend to build up the hours. She was fine with it. Left her asleep, found her asleep. She may be used to it from when cuntchops had her. But from what I've found out that would be a whole weekend with no food etc.
Huge walks. And she would make a crap guard dog 😒 oh yes she barks but then runs to whoever for fussing!
Any tips for getting my bed back?

She got tangled up in the living room curtains trying to get on the window sill. She likes people watching. Unfortunately pulled them down. Gave her a shock.
Also got introduced to the bath. God knows what she rolled in but it was a mixture of poo/rotten egg/ rotten meat & bad feet.
She's all fluffy and shiny now.
Dog bed coming tomorrow, a big padded fleece job. Read that whippet type dogs get bed sores from being lazy as they are so boney. She also now has her own fleece and towel. Training coming on a treat, she now lies down Grin which is a huge step.

Well after 2 weeks of trying she finally sleeps in a dog bed!
Which is good as she has started to snore.
She's been fascinated by puddles of ice and is insistent that we stop and try and walk over each one! Jumping if the ice cracks!
I can now tell she's put weight on and she has defined muscle , she's actually hurt my wrist pulling on the lead. Waiting for the new lead to arrive. Only down point , she ate my flip flops 🤷🏻‍♀️
