My vacuum cleaner has died...

My faithful old Miele dog and cat has finally given up the ghost after fifteen years of sucking up cat and dog hair so I need to get a replacement.

Funds are temporarily tight so can’t splash out too much.

What are your Best Buy vacuum cleaners to cope with animal hair? We have two cats (one extremely floofy and one with short sleek fur which still manages to get everywhere Hmm) and medium-sized, hairy dog

Sourcing might be an issue, but I picked up a second hand Nilfisk from my local second hand hoover shop, and it's brilliant. It had come from a cleaning company that replaced them every couple of years for tax purposes, but it makes a Dyson look wimpy. If you're in London let me know and I'll PM you the name of the shop as they had a few on and I only got it a few weeks ago, plus they do cheap Dysons etc

I'm very pleased with my Vax air stretch upright, think they also do a pet hair one that slightly more expensive, think I paid £119 for it about 9 months ago. It was a which best buy at the time.

I had a Miele cat & dog and it didn't do well enough on dog hair or dust after a few years (my neighbour borrowed it when it was nearly new and I think she seriously did for it). I decided to replace it a few months ago and got a Vax upright and it is startlingly good - my carpets are actually clean again (didn't realise how hopeless the Miele really was). I think I paid more than pigsDOfly but it is probably a different model (can't remember which and am at work so can't look).

Got to be a shark, they blow the likes of dyson etc out the window, look them up, look up their fb page etc, I’ve had mine nearly a year and I love it, I don’t have a dog but I do have long hair that gets everywhere and a long haired cat!

Btw if funds are tight they do payment plans, I paid £30 up front, was delivered the next day, then 5 more monthly payments of £30 till it was paid off.

Dyson big ball.. we have the hairiest dog in the world and crappy rented carpets that definitely trap the hair this was afterwards it looked completely new
