Foxy garden and pup

Pup aged 8 weeks (vaccinated Cockapoo) here in 2 weeks....dead excited! We lost our westie in Jan v suddenly so now can't wait to have a doggy presence once again.
Our garden is v foxy, foxes commute over the fence every night. No visible faeces but lots of wee. Is it safe to have my pup out on the lawn on a leash at 8 weeks for loo training? I'm anxious about disease.

I looked this up recently and think the greatest threat to dogs from foxes is worms transmitted via faeces.
On the other hand, once your dog does start using your garden as a toilet then this should deter the local foxes.

If you are concerned can you segregate an area of the garden to try and make it fox proof which you can use for toilet training? For other reasons we segregated an area of the garden using a wire puppy play pen that you could undo so it could be used as a barrier.
