Ddog is 10yo, neutered at 4yo, not overweight or anything (border collie x poodle and weighs 13kg so quite slight). She’s been incontinent since about a year after being speyed, which has been successfully treated with medication, but it’s just getting worse and worse.
She’s currently on urilin, which has been working just fine, but we’re now on a dose for a dog twice her weight and she’s waking up in a huge puddle pretty much every time she sleeps :( she’s getting sore from it, I’m struggling to bath her as I’m disabled and my house stinks of piss all the time. She’s clipped short to help with the clean up but it still soaks her through.
Vet says the only other medication is Incurin, which she was in originally but it made her smell like she was in season, plus she developed alopecia, so I’m not keen to try that again!
Has anybody had any experience of this and can offer any words of wisdom? I’m close to ordering her some incontinence pants but not sure they’ll hold a full bladders worth. Poor dog is slinking around thinking she’s done something wrong as I won’t let her lay on the rug anymore, plus she gets very distressed when she realises she’s wet :(
