If you leave it in bushes/trees, birds can use it to make their chicks nice soft fur-lined nests Smile

Yes you can put it in a mesh bird feeder/ under chicken wire (to keep it kinda contained) and you'll see birds come and take big beak fulls of it. It's really satisfying!

This reminds me of someone I used to know who had a lovely old collie. I remember once watching him brush her coat in the park as two crows stood near by waiting for the fur that he threw towards them. They went back and forth gathering it all up and taking it to line their nest - at least I assume that's what they were doing with it.

Lovely to think of the baby crows all snug in their warm silky soft bedding courtesy of that gorgeous dog.

There is a lady who spins dog hair into bespoke items:

Don't know about husky hair but we used to collect the hair from the winter coats of Icelandic ponies and a lady would use it to make jumpers.

Looked on the website for the woman who spins the dog hair. My dog's hair would be idea apparently being long and silky. Rather fancied a stuffed dog made out of my dog's fur but at £165 a go I think I'll have to pass.
