First Vaccination - Puppy very sleepy

Pup had her first vaccination this morning and vet warned she could be a bit lethargic. She has slept ever since we brought her home and won't eat her lunch. Is this normal for being 'a bit lethargic' ? I am a bit worried as she was running around everywhere yesterday.

Just going to the vets is both stressful and exciting and can cause my dog to be sleepy afterwards.

However, if your puppy doesn't perk up after a good sleep you could always phone the vets to double check.

Thanks for asking BiteyShark - she is still asleep but has moved a bit and she wagged her tail when a friend called in and cuddled her. I rang the vet who said that her breed is sometimes more sensitive to the vaccination but to phone again if I am worried. Doesn't help that my DH is working away this week! Another friend has said her dog reacts in the same way and sleeps all day after a jab so I am hoping that she is just a bit overwhelmed.

My puppy was really slow and sleepy for a couple of days after his second vaccinations. He just needed time to rest and he was back to normal really quickly!

Sounds like it was just a lot today on top of the jabs. Hope she perks up soon.
