Hi,

We're getting a new pup in the next week or so. We had to have our much loved and missed old terrier put to sleep just before Christmas and now our remaining dog is fretting for dog company we feel.

Our old terrier was Poppy, our cavalier we still have is Daisy. Our cat is willow. You can see the theme here can't you?

Names that have been vetoed are Lilly, Clover, Parsley, Iris, Petal, Blossom, Posy, Pansy and (my fave) Ivy.

Our new pup is a brown/black brindle little girl. She's half staffie and half patterdale.

Any suggestion would be much appreciated!

Tiddlywinks

In the OP...our cavalier we still have is Daisy

I think that rather rules out Daisy for this one 🤣

I think you need something a bit more ‘substantial’ than Peony (which sounds like an instruction anyway, Pee On Knee).

...Oak
Walnut
Kauri (beautiful NZ native tree)
Maple

Someone up thread suggested Fig. Good name for a brindle.

So cute.

Cosmos (there's a chocolate version).

Looked at pic before reading and first thought was Daisy, but obvs. no good if you already have one with that name!

Pecan ( obv.not a flower though)
Rosie
Sweetpea

dahlia

Somersetter · 01/04/2018 22:00

I was going to suggest Bramble or Bracken but see they've already been mentioned.

I think a tree name would be nice too - Holly, Juniper, Linden, Maple, Rowan.

She doesn't look like a flower kind of dog to me - not sure why Grin

Somersetter · 01/04/2018 22:02

Contradicting myself now, but what about Tansy?

Lucked · 01/04/2018 22:07

I like Bramble

Also Twiggy, olive and ginger

StargazyDrifter · 01/04/2018 22:21

I like Walnut, especially since the puppy looks a bit walnut-coloured from the photo.

Rowan is also good.

Since it's a spring puppy - Bluebell or Snowdrop?

Myrtle?

Burdock?

Calla (as in the lily)?

Inkspellme · 01/04/2018 22:58

So many great suggestions! And def some we hadn’t thought of before I started this thread. We had almost decided on Clover but it just doesn’t really fit her.

She’s currently asleep between myself and my ds on the couch so settling in well I think.
