Best brush for Puppy

We have a 12 week old Cockapoo who doesn't like the Standard hairbrush that we are using. Someone told me to look at Angel brushes. Does anyone have experience of them and are they gentler? Or can you recommend anything else?

The type of grooming equipment you need depends on the type of fur. As you have a mixed breed it depends whether you have cocker type fur or poodle. Unfortunately these crosses can need quite a bit of grooming. Build up little and often and reward for standing nicely.

OP, at 12 weeks old it's really not unusual for a puppy to not like grooming so whilst it may be the brush they dislike, it may be just grooming in general.

The key at this stage is to just do tiny bits a day and make it as fun as you can - literally 30 seconds. You won't be able to do a proper brush in that time, but that is fine. For lots of dogs their puppy fur doesn't really get too tangled but if yours does, then just focus on those areas prone to tangles first and try to get as much done in tiny, tiny bits.

Get your puppy used to brushing by using a soft brush (I use a baby hairbrush) and run it all over puppy dayly!!
To help with growing coat you could also use a comb with rotating teeth - they are great & gentle.
Once you know the coat type get the right brush and introduce it slowly...
