Newfoundland?

Haint · 26/03/2018 08:00

Newfoundland. A Brown one. Most are black but not all.

shushpenfold · 26/03/2018 08:00

Bernese mountain dog?

FriendsDontLie · 26/03/2018 08:00

Looks like a chocolate Newfoundland to me :)

shushpenfold · 26/03/2018 08:01

Forget that....St Bernard!

shushpenfold · 26/03/2018 08:02

Ignore me.....friends is right.

Bubble2bubble · 26/03/2018 08:05

Newfoundland who the hell leaves their dog tied to railings

PoloPrincess · 26/03/2018 08:06

That's a Newfoundland. Gorgeous big lovable teddy bears. Super swimmers too and are trained for rescuing people in water. I saw a video clip somewhere a few months ago of a low flying helicopter over the sea and this huge Newfoundland dog jumps out into the water and rescues someone.

LesisMiserable · 26/03/2018 08:06

That's a Newfoudland - ours passed away three years ago. She was the most beautiful soul I've ever known in an animal. I still miss her every day she left a huge whole in the heart of the house.

Looby4 · 26/03/2018 08:29

Thank you @FriendsDontLie and everyone else. I've fallen in love! Will research to see if this breed would suit our lifestyle.

Hope you like drool!!

Onemansoapopera · 26/03/2018 08:49

•noitsnotteatimeyet* our Newfie did not drool at all unless she'd been for a long walk on a hot day (like any dog).

It's a myth that all big jowly dogs drool not stop. It's very much luck of the draw with the individual.

Looby4 , they are beautiful dogs with very gentle temperaments and tons of grace and if you have space and time I would thoroughly recommend one.

paceyswife · 26/03/2018 16:56

If give anything for a Newfoundland they are my fantasy dog 🐶

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 26/03/2018 16:59

They are such lovely dogs.

Big though, and that brings a whole lot of problems.

GoldenHoops · 30/03/2018 12:51

We have 2 Newfies now, love them to bits.

Rednailsandnaeknickers · 30/03/2018 17:42

SUCH a gorgeous Newfie, no wonder you fell in love OP. They really are gentle giants. A chap in our local town has 2 and they will always stop and chat and let kids pat them. The dogs are so patient with all the little ones that seem to be drawn to them like bees to flowers 🌹 no fear. As if they know these dogs are kind.

ihatetosay · 30/03/2018 19:07

who tied it to railings

OVienna · 30/03/2018 19:10

A beautiful Newf.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 30/03/2018 19:11

It'a a brown bear surely?

scrivette · 30/03/2018 19:29

I love them, I once saw a load of Newfoundland puppies playing together and it was one of the sweetest things I have ever seen.

They are amazing swimmers.

plominoagain · 30/03/2018 21:05

A Newfie ! I absolutely love them . I know someone who breeds them , and has 6 . They go and do displays at various carnivals , regattas , and water festivals , and the dogs absolutely love it, rescuing people from the river , and towing boats back to shore and all sorts . They can’t stop themselves getting wet !

HonkyWonkWoman · 30/03/2018 21:14

LesisMiserable Flowers

Eggyegg · 30/03/2018 22:50

Newfoundland .

Gorgeous and so much respect for anyone who can cope with that amount of drool, mud and hair at one time!

nellieellie · 03/04/2018 01:16

Newfies are beautiful. My parents had two when I was growing up, both males. The temperament is fantastic, gentle. They are susceptible to HIp Dysplasia and joint issues. Always buy from a breeder that health checks both parents and previous generations. The drool is generally an issue. Ours would dribble a lot to the extent that I wore only old clothes around the house. When ours shook, drool woukd splatter off and end up on the walls. Bitches have neater mouths and may not be quite so bad!

Puffycat · 03/04/2018 01:34

It’s a big lump of furry meat with halitosis at one end and a wind tunnel at the other......
Get a cat!😉
