Looking after my old boy

I’m looking for some advice on caring for my 12 year old collie. I dont think he’s old but the vet says he is!! Grin He’s just recently got a little stiff on his legs and has been a bit less energetic, sleeps a bit more although otherwise he’s his usual slightly crazy neurotic self. I’m aware that cancer can get collies around this age and will get him checked out by vet. But does anyone have thoughts on diet or supplementation-other care for older dogs? I want to give him the best so he’s well and happy.
He’s usually pretty bright and active-our groomer says older dogs like a hairdryer on the legs as it warms and soothes the joints. He’s always loved the hairdryer though so who knows!
Thanks for your wise words!

For his joints, I really really recommend Yumove. It's given my arthritic boy a new lease of life!

I would recommend daily fish oil capsules, popped and mixed in with a teaspoon of ricotta (lower in sodium than many soft cheeses) for quicker absorption and milk thistle for liver function. Also PH balance capsules to keep things ticking along, these ones uk.iherb.com/pr/source-naturals-alka-balance-120-tablets/1018

For what it's worth, I've been giving these to my JRT/collie cross for years now since doing my own research after she was treated for cancer and the vet "doesn't understand" why nothing has ever come back. It might be fluke but, hey, worth a try.

He might also enjoy a heated pad to lie on during the day or to have in his bed for a few hours.

Second vote got Yumove!

Yumove definitely made a massive difference to my dogs, highly recommend it.
I've just started mine on turmeric as well ( anti inflammatory and anti cancer), though too early to say yet if it's making a difference.

Fab! I’ll give the Yumove a try and look at the other things too. Thank you
