Entertaining bored puppy?

We’re now into our 5th day of snow and it is below freezing - too cold to walk our 6 month old whippet! But he’s bored and cross ......doesn’t want to be outside, but had enough of being inside Confused does anyone have any tips for keeping him entertained? We’ve been doing training sessions and learning a few tricks, finding treats hidden about the house, playing tug, and ripping up cardboard boxes with toys hidden inside.

Any other ideas? He usually has two off lead walks a day and spends the rest of his time with a chew toy or cuddled up on the sofa Grin

Do you have any friends nearby with dogs to meet up with (even indoors)? Or could you drop him off at a doggy daycare for half a day? Our 10 month old always comes back happy and exhausted after a day playing with half a dozen other puppies!

Have a look at the canine enrichment facebook page for ideas.

Any chance of just a quick 10 min bounce about outside even if it is to the top of the road and back. Sometimes it's just enough to get some of that energy out of their system.

Thanks everyone, I got the RSPCA eyes at the suggestion of a walk - but he has enjoyed a game of fetch inside and is now happily watching tv. Hoping that it stops snowing at some point so I can try again with a very quick walk and sniff!

Have you tried stuffing a kong? Filling a kong with peanut butter, cream cheese and meat paste keeps them quiet for a while plus gets rid of some energy.
