Anyone have any experience of Many Tears Rescue?

I have met two people who adopted dogs from Many Years Rescue on a local walk.
One had a 7 year old female Westie (ex breeding dog)who was so friendly and affectionate to eveyone. The owner said the dog had been neglected,no human contact or affection etc for her breeding life.It was a very sad story. The owner said the dog was affectionate straight away and well behaved.

I can only comment on my own experience, but when I spoke to a gentleman at MT about the above situation his attitude was abrupt and not what I expected. I did not mention that the fosterer had brought the dog to me as I didn't want to get her into trouble. FYI the main picture of the dog Gael (8 yr old) that I expected to receive is still on the website with smaller pictures of a younger dog below ( 51/2 yr old on Vax card).... definitely not the same dog. I have since applied to adopt another dog through them but have had no response whatsoever from MT. In the past I have had other rescue dogs through other organisations and they have always been very helpful and supportive, something which MT are NOT. 😞

Further to my comments re MT on 7/9/23 I have not received any response re my application to adopt a different rescue dog. It seems to me that they are not running a rescue centre, they are running a business.

@PetloverUK sounds like you dodged a bullet. I had a great experience with Battersea and also Blue Cross following our poor experience with MT - they were both totally open and honest about the dogs from the start and we didn’t feel pushed to take a dog that wasn’t right for us. Would highly recommend contacting them both to find your next companion 😊 (also the adoption fee is much less than MT!)

Thanks for your message. I shall be very careful in future as although there are a lot of smaller rescue centres around they seem to be run on similar lines to MT. I generally take on unwanted Romanian dogs - who generally have sweet personalities - but having lost my last one to cancer I felt I ought to rescue one from the UK as the rescue centres are apparently overflowing. 🙂

They lie when they advertise the animals they said my dog rejected the pups when mom had no milk to feed the pups that's the only reason I let the pups leave and go to them. As I never hand raised pups before and was 8 of them. Also they rejected my application when I just tried to adopt one of my pups back as I miss them so much. Also wouldn't let me visit to see them. I've been treated like garbage by these people. And the way they lied about my girl dog mom of the pups she loved her pups she's always looking for them and they write on their advertisements that she rejected them when I seen that was so hurtful well I'm taking this further now.

I adopted a dog from Many Tears. I don't recognize the experiences some posters claim to have had.
Yes, MT are very particular about your home, who will be living with the dog and whether your garden is safe and secure but that comes from a desire to make sure that the adoption is successful.
No one was rude to me at any time. Post adoption I spoke to their behaviorist who was very helpful.
Also my first application was not successful but I didn't take offense at this and throw my toys out of the pram like some people seem to do.

Oh please. Even if they did that, you'd never prove it wasn't true...so how will you 'take it further'?

Also, good breeders keep their pups and feed them themselves. They don't dump them at rescues. A good breeder, even if they have not experienced certain issues before, knows how to respond. So even if you're telling the truth...you're still a bad owner - nothing you have posted has made you come across well here. Your poor dog.

Sharontina · 13/01/2025 12:17

Excuse me I did feed them by bottle u don't know what ure talking about.go away silly girl I know the truth haha I've already taken it further I don't have to tell u anymore

Sharontina · 13/01/2025 12:23

Oh and yes they have changed their advertising on here if u readi t now it says mom had no milk not that she abandoned her pups. Get it right the first time that's all they care about is making money of them. As soon as u mention take it further they do something about it. I'd never recommend these arseholes again ever

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 13/01/2025 12:24

@Sharontina

'As I never hand raised pups before and was 8 of them.'

and you hadn't considered any of that when you let her get pregnant.

but that's ok, a member of staff will have taken the pups home so the member of staff could hand feed them in her spare ( unpaid ) time and volunteers ( also unpaid ) will have done it during the working day.

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 13/01/2025 12:26

ooh further to your update

YOU didn't recommend them
YOU used them to home your litter

when the litter is ready - after being hand rared weaned etc etc

Sharontina · 13/01/2025 12:38

I wouldn't recommend them hows that. 😆 🤣 😂. Excuse me my boy has a implant ok ..u don't know me ..ur just guessing everything lol

Sharontina · 13/01/2025 12:44

And this is my second litter first litter I had she fed them herself and i rehomed 4 of them with lovely families and still have contact with them all. I kept 4 pups myself ..and there all very well looked after ok. And mom had now been done. She had a c section on the last litter. And lost 2 pups. So please u have no idea all my dogs are very well taken care of so please think before u speak in future
