How can I get my dog to take worming tablets?!?

Please help, at the end of my tether and out of ideas! Old lab, eats basically anything UNLESS it's even TOUCHED a worming tablet.
I've tried crushing them in gravy, concealing in sausage/cheese/chicken, forcing down the mouth... all to no avail.
He has to take three of the damn things every three months and I'm tearing my hair out. Any ideas PLEASE!?!

I crush them and hide them in butter. Some dogs like peanut butter, but my pooches love normal butter.

I crushed mine into kfc gravy. Only way I could get my dog to have them

I've had success with a tablet shy dog before by cutting up a few pieces of cheese, each one big enough to hide a tablet in. Only put the tablet in one piece.

Chucked him an untainted piece so he had to catch it in the air.
Chucked him another untainted piece.
And another.
Then chucked the tablet one.

By the time he got to the fourth piece he was just gulping back the cheese without tasting or chewing it. Job done.

I was coming on to say exactly what missb has said.
I have four omnivores who happily guzzle worming tablet crushed in their normal dinner and then one PRINCESS who can suss out molecules of tablet and separate them from the good stuff.
The ONLY way is to make up cheese spheres, and make a game of it, so she is swallowing before she thinks.
Even then, she sometimes catches on

It's bloody hard!! Our pup knows when there's a tablet in anything, even crushed . Last time we went to the vets they sold us a worming paste that came in a syringe looking thing, much easier!

A tip I was given by a veterinary nurse was to put the tablet in the dog's mouth, lift his/her head up so their throat is elongated and then gently rub the throat area which causes them to swallow. My dog could always tell when her food contained crushed up tablets and this way worked a treat without causing any distress.

For my dogs cat food is the apparently most highly valued delicacy in the world

Drontal does ones that are meant to taste nice. I didn't test it plain, but wrapped in room temperature butter. PestDog ate it gladly, though he's not the brightest dog.

My old lab eats ANYTHING apart from worming tablets - unless I pretend it's for the cat and "accidentally" drop it - then she eats it before I can grab it!

Otherwise I do the vet nurse's trick detailed above.

Our old dog would guzzle cheese, tuna, chicken, etc without it even touching the sides, unless it had been within 3 feet of a worming tablet, so this was the only method that worked. Even then, there was a technique to get it right. You need to put the tablet quite far back on their tongue to get them to swallow it. Otherwise they just tuck it under their tongue, or in their gums and spit it out when you let go.

I had the same problem with my cat, vet gave me liquid wormer you squeeze onto the skin on the back of their neck, like the flea stuff. Not sure you can get it for dogs but may be worth asking

I crushed it first then wedged it into a square of chicken and gave it as a treat after she did a wee in the garden . She didn't even notice -I am assuming she just expecteda treat and didn't even really taste it.
