Why does my dog do this?

I have a 6 year old female Lhaso and sometimes if anyone picks her up she makes a noise like she's in pain, like a loud yelp...she isn't at all (she's been checked lots of times) I think it's just for attention as when she goes to the groomers etc she's good as gold! I try to avoid picking her up but she has to have a bath in between going to the groomers (she likes to dig etc) and she doesn't jump in willingly! I'm sure my neighbours must think somethings up?! 🙈
Does anyone else's dog do this?

If she has been thoroughly checked by a vet and there is definitely nothing physically wrong she may be trying to tell you something. Maybe that noise she makes gets people to put her down.... job done.
