Pug has scratched his eye and it's weeping a bit and bothering him. What can I use to soothe it? Vet is £70 and can't afford at the moment.

Personally I would try and get the money to go to the vets as it could easily be or get infected. My vets seem to take even minor eye injuries very seriously whenever I have queried any similar symptoms (and my vets always try and save me money so I am totally confident that it's for genuine medical reasons).

Pugs are really prone to eye ulcers. He could be in a lot of pain and you really can't attempt to treat something like that yourself.

Might you be eligible for PDSA or Blue Cross treatment? Is he insured?

I'll go to the vet tomorrow. Thanks all

I hope you have insurance if you have a pug and are worried about vet bills.

If not it is time to get a policy in place ASAP.

rightsaidfrederickII · 22/01/2018 23:53

How did you get on at the vets?

cleowasmycat · 24/01/2018 15:51

Got to wear a collar for a few days and eye drops, DD said 'you don't look silly, you look like a flower'
