I'm thinking of getting a new puppy. I have had a couple of dogs previously, so I am not new to dog ownership, but last time I had a puppy was 14 years ago and I am sure the world of puppy and general dog training has moved on since then. Which books would you recommend for a new puppy owner?

For recall specific stuff, Total Recall by Pippa Mathison

And don't forget training classes! Ours have really helped - I started with a reactive young adult with almost zero training and have found them invaluable.

Pippa also has the Happy Puppy Handbook which is brilliant at covering all the basics in a modern way. Really great read to prepare for a new canine arrival...

Gwen Bailey's The Perfect Puppy

Pippa Mathison also has a book called Perfect Puppy which is good.

Could someone please post a link to the Perfect Puppy book mentioned? I can only see one by Gwenn Bailey. Thanks!
