Pet Passports

I have 2 dogs that require passports for travelling from Ireland to the UK mainland.

Does anyone know how much they would be, and what length of time it takes to issue them?

Meant to add that I've found prices ranging from £20 - £109, and I can't find any info on the government website about the length of time to issues them or prices.

I hope someone could give me information on this.

TIA

Prices vary wildly from vet to vet, we paid about 80 quid for each animal (but this was about 9 years ago, and that included fees for jabs and tablets etc). They were issued pretty much straightaway once their relevant jabs were done. I'm almost certain we did this at Pets at Home. I think your best bet is to ring around and see where is cheapest.

A pet passport can be issued in a matter of minutes, but it is only valid 21 days after the rabies injection is administered.

I paid cost price for mine, but they’re usually in the region of £60-£90.

I am in good terms with my vet so did the passport paperwork myself and just paid for the vaccinations. As I remember the passport came back in a few days but as pp said the delay is waiting for 3 weeks after rabies vax to be allowed to travel.
Anecdotally people travel Ireland to UK with their dogs and are never asked for passports, ( officials are too busy looking for puppy smugglers to botherJane Bloggs with her one dog in the boot), but it's certainly not worth the risk of having your dog quarantined for not having the paperwork.
