Dogs meeting

I have a 4 year old male pug and my boyfriend has a 7 year old neutered male English bull terrier. Both have lovely friendly temperaments. However when then meet they continuously hump! My pug doesn't do this with other dogs. I'm sure it's a dominance thing but how do we stop it?
Thanks in advance for any tips!

It's more likely to be a stress reaction and ideally you would need to allow them to keep their distance from each other.
Parallel walking them can help them to settle and get to know each other.

Sure they're not copying you two WinkGrin

I give a couple of brisk hand claps and a firm "NO!" maybe tell them they are naughty boys too

They'll get over it soon enough if you stop them and don't encourage it!
I have never had a humpy dog!

It's nothing to do with dominance btw.
