My 11 year old shar pei boy is poorly, He yelps when he moves or my 3 year old DS runs past him or our other dog wants to play, he just hasn’t been himself. He has lost a bit of weight too. We took him to the vets and he noticed a lump when examining him, it’s his lymph node in his neck. The vets face dropped when he found it.
He explained to us there is a chance it’s lymphoma, he gave us a course of antibiotics we are on the second day of them and if anything the lump is getting bigger and he’s still yelping. The vet asked if he was still eating/drinking and he is, he hasn’t turned a meal down and is drinking and still going for his walks fine.
I’ve been doing some reading up on lymphoma and he only has a few of the symptoms. We have decided if it is bad news on tuesday we will put him too sleep, it would be selfish to keep him in pain for any longer.
I’m trying my best to keep it together but it’s so hard not knowing and seeing him in pain. Has anyone had experience with this before?
