I was going to put this in the puppy thread but decided my outrage needed a thread of my own
I’m in Australia and dog parks are very popular here. Basically a secure, fenced park of varying sizes where dogs can run around off lead and play with each other. Sounds great in theory but the complexities of dog and human behaviour mean it’s not always fun and games.
My local park has a small dog section and even though my whippet is only 13 kilos I normally take him to the bigger dog area these days as he’s too rough with the little dogs. Today one of the owners of the other dogs decided to pick my dog up in his arms (good thing Bluepuppy is friendly!). Before I could tell him to put him back down he threw Bluepuppy out of his arms to see him run and started laughing
When I told him ‘don’t throw my dog’ the man just laughed and said something along the lines of ‘he’s fine, he likes it’.
Some people live in an alternate universe. How did he know my dog didn’t have some kind of injury?
Think I’ll stick with my whippet meet ups, doggy day care and on leash walks from now on.
